Record Store Day Canada has officially announced that the 2014 Record Store Day Spokesband is Canada's favourite musical sons, Blue Rodeo. Since bursting onto the Toronto club scene in the mid-80’s, Blue Rodeo have been on a remarkable career path that has led to over 4 million records sold, multiple JUNO Awards, world-wide tours, an induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and a Star on the Walk of Fame.
"Record stores are so much more than just merchandise sellers", says Blue Rodeo's Jim Cuddy, "They are a social service - like minded people sharing their love and knowlege of music".
Record Store Day takes place annually on the third Saturday of April, and falls on April 19, 2014 this year. David Guetta couldn't resist cutting a few beats destined for the dance-floor only - or at least that was his intention. After a tidal wave of radio support for his mix, however, he decided to turn it into an official release. Reworking the chorus of Nancy Sinatra's classic “Bang Bang,” Guetta enlisted Skylar Grey, whose vocals haunt over his trademark euphoric production. "From the first time I played it, I knew." said Guetta, "When I make music, I make it to give people a good time; with emotion and passion. I want us to dance together.”
