JETS OVERHEAD to Perform at Coachella, CMW
and SXSW
Toronto, ON - Having logged appearances in the past year at Bonnaroo, the CMJ Music Marathon and Neil Young's Bridge School Concert, Victoria, BC quintet Jets Overhead continue to build momentum on the touring front with upcoming performances at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, South by Southwest, Canadian Music Week, and the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
Jets Overhead will make their debut appearance at the 11th edition of Coachella on the same day as performances by Them Crooked Vultures, Vampire Weekend, LCD Soundsystem, Jay-Z, Public Image Limited and Echo & the Bunnymen. The band will also be performing at the Vapor Records showcase during SXSW in Austin, TX, alongside US labelmates Everest, Jason Yates, and Pegi Young.
Jets Overhead will play two shows during the upcoming Winter Olympics in Vancouver, one at the Surrey Celebration Site (www.surrey2010.com) and the second at the LiveCity event (livecityvancouver.ca), before heading east for the annual Canadian Music Week festival in Toronto. Upcoming dates are listed below:
Feb 13 - Celebration Stage, Surrey, BC (Winter Olympics)
Feb 15 - LiveCity Downtown, Vancouver, BC (Winter Olympics)
Mar 12 - The Horseshoe, Toronto, ON (Canadian Music Week)
Mar 17 - Maggie Mae's, Austin, TX (SXSW)
Apr 16 - Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Indio, CA
These shows will continue to support No Nations, their second critically-acclaimed album. Propelling No Nations' free-flowing dreamy rock textures - which have been compared to Coldplay and Radiohead - is the rich vocal interplay of the husband and wife duo of Adam Kittredge and Antonia Freybe-Smith. Guitarist/keyboardist Piers Henwood (a cousin of Kittredge), bassist Jocelyn Greenwood and drummer Luke Renshaw coalesce the band's trademark atmospheric sound, evident in the band's second single, "I Should Be Born", which was serviced to rock and alternative radio in Canada last week.
