Michael Bublé’s Christmas Continues To Top The Charts

<strong>Holiday release setting sales records</strong> Wednesday, December 14, 2011 - For immediate release Michael Bublé has gotten music fans the holiday spirit early this year with the release of his new album Christmas. The album has already sold more than 5 million copies around the world since its mid-October release including nearly 350,000 copies in Canada, easily making it the biggest album of the holiday season. This week’s Canadian sales tally, 92,444, makes it the biggest one week sales total for any album so far in 2011, surpassing the 81,000 copies sold of Lady GaGa’s “Born This Way” in the last week of May. It is the biggest one week sales total for any album since AC/DC’s Black Ice sold 119,000 copies in October 2008 and the biggest one week sales total for a Canadian artist since Gregory Charles’ I Think Of You sold 93,000 copies in October 2006. Buble’s Christmas has now sold 344,000 copies in its seven weeks of release, placing it at #2 on the top sellers list so far in 2011. Christmas includes such classics as “White Christmas” with a guest appearance by fellow Canadian Shania Twain, “Jingle Bells” (with the Puppini Sisters), “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”. In addition, Latin singing sensation Thalia joins Bublé on “Feliz Navidad”. Led by Michael’s original composition “Cold December Night” – already a Top 5 hit - no less than eight of the album’s fifteen songs are charting at Canadian radio Over the next week, Michael will be making a number of television appearances including co-hosting Live with Regis & Kelly on December 16, performing on Saturday Night Live December 17 and an encore presentation of Michael’s own highly rated Christmas Special on CTV on Sunday, December 18, 2012. Christmas was produced by David Foster, Bob Rock and Humberto Gatica and was recorded in LA and Vancouver and follows up his multi-platinum “Crazy Love” CD which sold over seven million copies.
