CHARLI XCX AMENDS RELEASE DATE OF “SUCKER” TO DEC 16th AND ALSO REVEALS NEW LP ARTWORK September 23 2014
Over the last 18 months 22-year-old singer/songwriter/artist Charli XCX’s rise to international pop stardom has been nothing short of meteoric. From releasing her dark-pop record “True Romance” in 2013 to a wealth of critical acclaim, Charli has toured the globe with the likes of Coldplay and Ellie Goulding, written and been featured on one of 2013’s biggest hits ‘I Love It’ with Swedish duo Icona Pop, in addition to co-writing and being featured on the global, four million-selling hit ‘Fancy’ with Iggy Azalea. This summer, she scored a Top 10 hit with the single ‘Boom Clap’ and also released the brand new single, ‘Break The Rules,’ off her forthcoming sophomore album, “Sucker,” out December 16th via Neon Gold/Atlantic Records. “Boom Clap,” “Fancy” and “I Love It” combined have sold over 14 Million copies worldwide. This month, The New York Times pegged Charli a “grown-up performer,” an “anti-pop star” with great hooks – and additionally she is featured on the cover of Complex’s Oct/Nov issue. Catch her on tour this fall—full itinerary below.
Charli commented - “Guys, I’m moving the release of Sucker back to January 26. ‘Boom Clap’ is still getting so much love all over the world, which is crazy, and it just makes sense, so I have proper time to focus on the album launch. The support I’ve received this year has been mind-blowing. As you know, I’ll also be supporting Katy Perry on her European arena tour in February! I totally can’t wait to see you all, Angels. I promise it’ll be worth the wait <3”
