Jason Mraz's 'Love is a Four Letter Word' Debuts atop Canadian Album Charts
April 25 2012

APRIL 25, 2012 - âLOVE IS A FOUR LETTER WORD,â the new album from Atlantic recording artist Jason Mraz, has debuted at No. 1 on the Canadian album chart â the first time the singer/songwriter has reached the top spot in his career. The album has already earned gold status after just one week of release, while the first single, âI Wonât Give Up,â is platinum.

Mrazâs previous release, his breakout album âWE SING. WE DANCE. WE STEAL THINGS.,â peaked at No. 3 in February 2009, going on to sell over 200,000 copies in Canada and earning double-platinum certification.

Following recent Canadian television performances including âStar Academieâ and âCanada AM,â Mraz will return on tour â dubbed âTour Is A Four Letter Wordâ â in September with dates in Montreal (Sept. 8 at Bell Centre), Toronto (Sept. 9 at Molson Amphitheatre) and Vancouver (Sept. 21 at Rogers Arena). Atlantic Records labelmate Christina Perri will open all three dates.

Produced by multiple GRAMMY Award-winner Joe Chiccarelli (The White Stripes, Christina Perri, My Morning Jacket), âLOVE IS A FOUR LETTER WORDâ marks Mrazâs finest, most fully realized collection to date. Fueled by magnificently textured arrangements and distinctive vocal landscapes, the album â Mrazâs fourth studio release and first new collection since 2008âs epochal âWE SING. WE DANCE. WE STEAL THINGS.â â fully confirms the San Diego-based singer/songwriter as one of modern popâs most vibrant and inventive artists.
