March 15, 2011 (Montreal, PC) – Today Simple Plan, a group recognized world-wide for hits such as When I'm Gone, Your Love Is A Lie and Save You, made a $10,000 donation to the Red Cross for Japan earthquake and tsunami relief efforts via their foundation, the Simple Plan Foundation.
Recognizing that their global popularity can be leveraged for good, the group has also created a limited edition t-shirt that will be sold via the Simple Plan website (www.simpleplan.com). All proceeds from t-shirt sales will be directed to the Red Cross and their efforts in Japan.
“It absolutely breaks our hearts to watch the horrible images and videos of the devastation that has hit Japan following the March 11th earthquake and tsunami. We had the privilege to visit Japan many times and it’s one of the most amazing places in the world. To see such destruction has deeply affected everyone in the band and we really wanted to do everything we could to make a difference,†said band member Chuck Comeau. “We know our fans will rally behind us and that together we will help the Red Cross make a huge difference in the lives of those affected.â€
