FULL-LENGTH SOLO ALBUM

Tuesday, February 12, 2013 - Coalition Music recording artist Raine Maida has announced the release of his forthcoming solo album, We All Get Lighter. This, the second full-length solo album from the lead singer for platinum rockers Our Lady Peace, will be released physically and digitally on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. The albumâs first single, âMontreal,â is available at all DSP internationally today.

âWe All Get Lighter begun 4 years ago when I performed at a spoken word festival in Calgary. The headliner that night was one of the original beat poets named John Giorno,â recalls Raine.

âWe spoke backstage for a while after the show. I pulled out my copy of his book "Demons in America" and he signed it " To Raine. Everyone Gets Lighter" From that moment on my next solo record would center around his quote. Humility, Understanding and unequivocal Equality. We all leave this planet one day. We all get lighter.â

Raine produced the album recording in Los Angeles and Toronto over the past 18 months. Raine was joined in the studio by his wife Chantal Kreviazuk who provided piano on some of the songs while Kevin Fox (Kathleen Edwards, Celine Dion) provided cello and Karen Graves (Chantal Kreviazuk, Steve Page) played violin.

As lead singer for Torontoâs Our Lady Peace, Raine Maidaâs voice and song-writing has been an integral sound on Modern Rock radio since they burst on to the world stage in the early 1990âs. Since then theyâve sold millions of records, won four Juno Awards and ten MuchMusic Video Awards. Raine, and his wife, Chantal Kreviazuk currently live in Los Angeles with their three sons. Both are accomplished songwriters contributing music and lyrics to artists as diverse as Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne and Carrie Underwood. They both have taken on a number of political causes, most notably making significant contributions to raise funds and awareness for War Child.

Raine Maidaâs first solo release was the 2006 EP Love Hope Hero. His first full-length solo album was 2007âs The Hunterâs Lullaby. he plans on performing a series of solo shows in support of the new album.
