Warner Music Canada is pleased to welcome Barenaked Ladies back to the family. The label and band have announced an agreement for the groupâs twelfth studio recording to be released in Canada on the label that they partnered with for their greatest commercial successes. As this year marks the 25th Anniversary for BNL, the return to Warner Music Canada seems all the more appropriate. The as yet untitled album is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. The albumâs first single, âBoomerang,â will be available for purchase at all DSPs and iTunes as of Tuesday, March 26, 2013. The lyric video for âBoomerangâ debuts today at www.canada.com.

âWarner Canada was instrumental in Barenaked Ladiesâ career,â said Barenaked Ladiesâ vocalist Ed Robertson about the announcement. âWe made a lot of good friends there, and itâs very cool to be working with them again. It feels like going home.â

âBarenaked Ladies have been one of Canadaâs most beloved and important bands in the past 25 yearsâ says Warner Music Canada President Steve Kane. âWarner Music Canada has always been proud to be a part of their career and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to work with them once again on the release of their new album.â

Barenaked Ladies are currently putting the finishing touches on the new album, which was recorded in Toronto with producers Gavin Brown (The Tragically Hip, Metric), Howie Beck (Feist, Josh Rouse) and Mark Endert (Maroon 5, Train). Following the release of the album, itâll be a busy summer for the band (guitarist/vocalist Ed Robertson, bassist/vocalist Jim Creeggan, keyboardist/vocalist Kevin Hearn and drummer/vocalist Tyler Stewart) who will be headlining the Last Summer On Earth tour with support from Ben Folds and Guster.

Over the course of the past twenty-five years, Barenaked Ladies have amassed an international fanbase whose members number in the millions. Their plethora of career highlights includes eight Juno Awards and multiple Grammy nominations, more than 14 million albums sold worldwide and a series of hit singles, including No. 1 hit âOne Week,â as well as âPinch Me,â âBrian Wilson,â âIf I Had $1,000,000â and many more, along with the theme song for the hit CBS television series, âThe Big Bang Theory.â
