This announcement comes just one month before k.d.lang is inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the Juno Awards held April 21, 2013 in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Over the course of her 25 year career k.d.lang has made a habit of re-writing the rules of country and pop music with a voice that defies description. The Alberta born singer has won eight Juno Awards and four Grammy Awards. Her contributions to music were already so significant that by the end of the 80âs she was named one of Canadaâs Artists of The Decade along with Bryan Adams and Rush. In 2008 she was honoured as a recipient on Canadaâs Walk of Fame. Langâs duet with Roy Orbison on âCryinââ made her an international star and the multi-platinum album Ingénue proved that she could rule the pop charts as well as the country charts. Her performance of Leonard Cohenâs âHallelujahâ at the opening ceremonies of Vancouverâs 2010 Olympic Games reminded the world of her unmatched talent.
In 2011, she released her 13th studio album Sing it Loud, which she released alongside her band, the Siss Boom Bang. The Toronto Sun said the album âmarries rich countripolitan sophistication to earthy Memphis soul to create langâs warmest and most welcoming work in many a year.â In 2010, she marked the 25th anniversary of her recording debut with Recollection, a career retrospective.

Lang has also championed many causes throughout her distinguished career, including gay rights, animal rights, and Tibetan human rights. K,d.lang will be performing live on the Juno awards.
