“We love working with Nick Egan, it’s like he becomes a fifth member of the band,’ says John Taylor. ‘Nick Rhodes had the jumping idea, based on the photographs of Philippe Halsmann. It’s what the song is about, leaping into the unknown, taking the plunge, seizing the moment. Of all our previous collaborations with Mr Egan we are most proud of ‘White Lines’, the song we covered on the ‘Thank You’ album. We think that video is a bit of a classic, as it features Flash and Mel and the Furious Five. It’s black and white and crazy!

Nick has a excellent understanding of who we are as a band and wanted to create a clip that included a great performance. When we saw the finished video we felt he had totally nailed it and it’s now up there at the top of our list of Egan / Duran partnerships.

We were fortunate to have Nile Rodgers and Janelle Monáe work on Pressure Off with us, and we could not have produced a successful video for the song without them. It’s great to be reunited on film with Nile, last time was Notorious in ’85. Janelle is just a firecracker, we can’t get enough of her!’”

The video, shot in both LA and London was lensed by famed English director Nick Egan (Alanis Morrissette, Oasis, INXS, Sonic Youth to name a few) and features the band, Janelle Monáe and Nile Rodgers.
