Australian superstar Cody Simpson arrives in Toronto today to the news that his new album, Surfers Paradise has debuted at #2 in Canada according to figures provided by Nielsen Soundscan, a service that calculates actual physical and digital sales of albums and singles. The album also debuted at #10 in the United States. Cody will celebrate his accomplishment with fans at an autograph session at Toronto’s hmv Superstore, 333 Yonge St. beginning at 3:00pm today (July 24).

Fresh off a headlining Canadian tour that featured a sold out show at Toronto’s Massey Hall, Atlantic recording artist Cody Simpson returned to Canada this week as the opening act for Justin Bieber including tomorrow night’s show at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre.

Surfers Paradise features 8 tracks including the first single “Pretty Brown Eyes” that has already been certified gold for digital sales in Canada.

Simpson has spent much of the past year on the road, including his currently ongoing North American headline tour which comes to NYC’s Best Buy Theater, with a sold out show, this Thursday, July 18th and is set to wrap July 20th at Boston’s House of Blues.
