February 03 2014

HEADLINE TREK STOPS IN TORONTO APRIL 21;
ACCLAIMED DUO ALSO SLATED FOR
FIREFLY, BIG GUAVA & SUBURBIA MUSIC FESTIVALS

Fueled By Ramen recording group twenty one pilots has announced details of their upcoming North American headline tour. Dubbed “trip for concerts spring 2014,” the trek gets underway Thursday, April 3rd at Knoxville, Tennessee’s Bijou Theatre and then travels through mid-May. Support on the coast-to-coast run will come from NONONO and Hunter Hunted (see attached itinerary). Among other highlights, twenty one pilots are also set to make appearances at Delaware’s Firefly Music Festival (June 19th – 22nd), Tampa’s Big Guava Music Festival (May 2nd – 4th) and Dallas’ Suburbia Music Festival (Sunday, May 3rd - 4th). For complete tour details and ticket information, please see www.twentyonepilots.com/tour.

“trip for concerts spring 2014” sees twenty one pilots continuing their nearly non-stop travels, a journey that has seen the Columbus, Ohio-based duo play countless sold out headline dates worldwide while also sharing the road with Fall Out Boy and fellow Fueled By Ramen recording group Panic! At The Disco. Having just come off their latest fall headline run, twenty one pilots recently made their first trip to Australia, winning over fans down under while touring with label mates Paramore. Later this month twenty one pilots will head overseas to embark on a nearly sold out European trek.

twenty one pilots – that is, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun – have long earned applause for their stellar live sets and showstopping festival performances. “The first great set of Bonnaroo 2013,” exclaimed USA Today, while SPIN named the band one of their “40 Best Things We Saw At Outside Lands 2013,” noting that the “acrobatic, emo-rap, screamo-synthpop, cabaret-core duo…wiggle their way into your heart via intense genre hybridization (there’s definitely something for everyone) and their unique charm.”

“VESSEL,” twenty one pilots’ acclaimed new album, sees the band expanding upon their distinctive fusion of piano-driven indie-rocktronica. “House of Gold,” the album’s latest single, is currently top 10 at Alternative radio outlets across the U.S., marking the band’s second top 10 single, the other being “Holding On To You.” The “House of Gold” companion video is currently available for viewing on the official Fueled By Ramen YouTube channel while the companion video for “Holding On To You,” the breakthrough first single from “VESSEL,” continues to be a YouTube favorite, with views fast approaching 7 million. What’s more, twenty one pilots recently released a special live clip of “House of Gold,” filmed in multiple locations around Detroit, MI including footage from their recent performance at The Fillmore. The clip can be viewed HERE.

twenty one pilots has made a variety of high profile TV appearances in recent months, including performances of “House of Gold” on TBS’ Conan - which USA Today picked as one of 2013’s “10 Unforgettable music moments from late-night TV” - and VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live. Last year also found the duo on the receiving end of such honors as a 2013 MTV “Artist To Watch” Video Music Award nomination as well being named as an MTV 2013 “Artist To Watch.” What’s more, Alternative Press recently placed “VESSEL” at #1 of its “10 Essential Albums of 2013” ranking, with Editor-In-Chief Jason Pettigrew writing, “twenty one pilots are very much a pop band trafficking in sunny hooks, propulsive beats and fizzing electronica. But ‘VESSEL’ isn’t another mindless cookie-cutter opiate found on the end caps at Target. Joseph’s neurotic (sometimes troubled) ruminations on modern life undercut the breezy sentiment the music conveys. Dance, cry or do both at the same time. Just feel.”
